MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and the Student Government Association will host their third annual student panel about mental health on Feb. 26.

“Stand Together, Heal Together – A Conversation on Building a Compassionate Community,” will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Olmsted Building auditorium, room C213.

Students, faculty and staff are invited to attend to explore “the bystander effect” as student panelists discuss why actions — or lack of actions — matter, why people sometimes hesitate to act in critical moments, and how to make a difference as bystanders.

The student-led conversation will cover what it means to be a compassionate, engaged campus community with regard to mental health, as well as share mental health resources available for students.

Students can receive first-year seminar credit for attending.

Students are reminded of the free confidential counseling available at CAPS. More information is available at harrisburg.psu.edu/caps.
