UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Graduate School and Penn State Global have announced graduate student travel grants for the spring 2024 semester. Applications are due by Feb. 9.

The main use of graduate student travel grant funds is to assist students in presenting their scholarly work at international conferences outside of the United States. Graduate student travel grants, supported by the Graduate School and Penn State Global, are intended to help promote Penn State’s global leadership in scholarship and international engagement.

Graduate students from any Penn State campus, including World Campus, are eligible for these grants. International graduate students are encouraged to apply.

Awards are contingent upon the availability of funds and the number of applications received. Applicants are strongly encouraged to seek additional funding sources, including matching funds from their campus, college or department, or external funding.

Applicants must be currently registered Penn State graduate students in good academic standing.

The application form requires:

  • A summary of the paper or presentation.
  • An explanation of why it is important for the applicant to present their work at the conference.
  • An assessment of the connection between the student’s research to one of the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
  • A letter of support from someone familiar with the student’s research.
