UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Global will hold its annual Education Abroad Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 30 in Alumni Hall, HUB-Robeson Center at University Park. No pre-event signups required.

What is the Education Abroad Fair?

Penn State Global hosts an annual fair to showcase global learning opportunities administered by Penn State’s academic colleges and international host institutions. Student support offices, funding resources and short-term program course leaders also exhibit a display at the fair.

Students may attend the fair any time between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. to converse with representatives from study centers and universities overseas, connect with advisers from their academic colleges, meet faculty who lead programs abroad and speak with Education Abroad staff about the 300+ Penn State-approved education abroad opportunities in more than 50 countries.

“The annual Education Abroad Fair is the premier opportunity each year for students to discover all Penn State has to offer in the way of education abroad experiences, as well as partake in meaningful conversations about the lifelong impact of studying abroad. Our office and partners alike work the entire year to make a reality these international education experiences, so we are always ecstatic to speak with students!” said Colton Breon, outreach and engagement coordinator for Education Abroad.

Penn State offers traditional study abroad programs, international internships, and research placements abroad. Program lengths vary from about one week to a full semester or academic-year long experience. Education Abroad staff, Penn State faculty, program alumni and international host institutions will be in attendance the day of the event to provide information to students and answer student questions.

“Penn State students have hundreds of options when it comes to internationalizing their educational experience at Penn State.  Attending the Education Abroad Fair is a great way to get started with exploring options for global learning during their academic career, and five lucky student attendees will receive a scholarship to be used toward a future study abroad program!” said Kate Manni, director of Education Abroad.

Student Access and Success Grants

Five students who attend the 2024 Education Abroad Fair will be chosen at random to win a $500 scholarship as part of Penn State Global’s Student Access and Success Grants campaign.

Student Access and Success Grants are intended to foster global learning across the University. Any student from any Penn State campus participating in a Penn State-approved education abroad program may be eligible for funding toward their experience. No separate applications are required to be considered for most opportunities.
