UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Global’s annual Education Abroad Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25, in Alumni Hall of the HUB-Robeson Center at the University Park campus. No signups are required.
What is the Education Abroad Fair?
Each year, Penn State Global hosts a fair to connect students to global learning opportunities provided by its education abroad partners, support offices, funding resources, and academic colleges.
Students may attend the fair at any point in the 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. window to speak with representatives from universities and study centers abroad, meet with advisers from their academic colleges or education abroad, get acquainted with faculty who lead programs abroad, and speak with Education Abroad staff about the 300+ Penn State-approved education abroad opportunities.
“Our fair is the one time a year everyone who has some stake in Penn State education abroad gathers together to educate students on all the opportunities our office and partners alike work the entire year to make a reality,” said Colton Breon, outreach and engagement coordinator for Education Abroad.
Students will learn more about education abroad program types offered by Penn State Global, which include semester and academic year-long experiences, short-term embedded or faculty-led courses, and international internships or research abroad. Education abroad alumni, Penn State Global staff, Penn State faculty, and third-party partners will be present at the event and able to answer student questions.
“Whether you’re a student who has been planning for an education abroad experience for years or you’re taking the very first step to learn about what opportunities are available, we welcome you to join us at the annual Education Abroad Fair,” said Kate Manni, director of Education Abroad. “With education abroad programs ranging from one week to one semester to one year in over 50 different countries, we have options that meet the academic and personal needs of all Penn Staters. And, with our Student Access and Success grants running through summer 2025, now is the perfect time to start planning your education abroad experience!”
Student Access and Success Grants program
Twenty students who attend the Education Abroad Fair will be selected to win a $500 education abroad scholarship as part of Penn State Global’s Student Access and Success Grants campaign.
The Student Access and Success Grants initiative was created to increase global learning among University students across the commonwealth. Any student from any Penn State campus participating in a Penn State-approved education abroad program is eligible for increased access to funding toward their experience. No specific applications are required for students to be considered for most opportunities.
Students who are eligible for Federal Pell Grants to attend Penn State are guaranteed a minimum scholarship of $1,000 from Penn State Global to participate in any approved education abroad program. For more information, visit the Penn State Global Student Access and Success webpage.
