UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program's 2025-26 competition is now open, featuring over 400 awards offered in more than 135 countries. The awards cycle is open until Sept. 16.

The Fulbright Program is the U.S. government's flagship international educational exchange program. The program offers Penn State faculty members, staff and administrators opportunities to conduct advanced research, teach, or do both, and attend seminars abroad. The program also affords recipients the opportunity to interact with, and make an impact on, their host communities during their Fulbright tenure.

Penn State was the top producer of Fulbright Scholar awards in 2023-24, garnering 12 faculty awards. Penn State has been a top producer for over 10 years in a row.

The Fulbright competition is administered at Penn State through the Faculty Fulbright office, led by Faculty Fulbright Adviser Sylvester Osagie. The University also sponsors discipline-based panels, which help to support faculty applications for Fulbright awards.
