USAC continues advancing priorities, thanks outgoing members as term year ends

The University Staff Advisory Council (USAC) concludes its 2023-2024 term year on June 30. The Council acts in an advisory capacity to University administration through the Vice President for Human Resources and represents the interests and issues impacting Penn State staff.

During the 2023-2024 term year, USAC focused on increasing communication with staff, improving representation, and strengthening the staff voice.

As she concludes her term, outgoing USAC chair Rachel Galloway said, “I stand proud as I look back on the year behind us and survey all that USAC has accomplished. We have established more effective channels of communication with University leadership including administrators, various staff council chairs, University Faculty Senate, and other consultative bodies within the institution; have passed a proposal to expand our membership model to include representation from every college, campus, and unit, beginning next year; and have successfully advocated for staff to be included in critical conversations occurring at the University. As USAC prepares to increase overall membership, I look forward to all the positive changes these new voices will be able to influence, and I feel honored to have been a small part of it.”

At the end of the 2023-2024 term, five members completed their terms on the council. In addition to primary job responsibilities, serving on USAC includes at least a three-year commitment, participation in multiple meetings per month, and involvement in special projects and events.

The Office of Human Resources and USAC express gratitude to these outgoing members for their time and contributions:

  • Stephanie Andaloro, assistant registrar, Penn State Wilkes-Barre

  • Terra Ingram, administrative support coordinator, College of Agricultural Sciences

  • Mary Ohashi, inclusion, equity & diversity office coordinator, Gender Equity Center, Student Affairs
