UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The University Staff Advisory Council (USAC) is seeking applications for at-large members for the 2025-26 membership cycle. All non-union, full-time staff at every level and from every campus are eligible to apply.
Member roles on USAC are select leadership positions that offer the unique opportunity to make a direct positive impact across the institution. As a member, staff have a voice in important University-wide initiatives and decisions that influence staff welfare and development. USAC members serve as representatives for their units and as a bridge between staff and leadership, advocating for staff concerns, promoting professional growth, and improving workplace policies and practices.
In addition to the 59 elected members from academic colleges, campuses, and designated administrative and academic units, USAC’s new membership model will include 15 at-large members from across the institution, with two at-large members rolling-on for the 2025-26 membership cycle, beginning July 1. Monthly council meetings are approximately three hours, occur during normal University hours, and are considered University business. USAC members also have the opportunity to serve on at least one sub-committee within the larger council. Meetings are offered in a hybrid format (in-person and remote) to support representation from across the institution.
Applications for at-large membership are due by 8 a.m. on Monday, March 17. Applicants will be asked to submit a letter of support from a Penn State colleague or supervisor during the submission process, and selected candidates will be invited to interview.
For questions about the application process or membership, please refer to the USAC website or contact the Membership and Elections Committee chair Rachel Galloway at ask USAC@psu.edu.
