UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The University Staff Advisory Council (USAC), an advisory board that advocates for Penn State’s staff of more than 10,000 employees, is seeking applications for the 2023-2024 academic year. Staff at every level and from every campus are invited to apply.
With its mission to represent the interests of Penn State staff, USAC deliberates University policies, procedures and programming and provides recommendations to University administration. Matters addressed include staff morale; continuous quality improvement; customer service; and equity, inclusion and diversity.
The Council is composed of a diverse group of 30 representatives from Penn State’s 24 campuses who welcome multiple perspectives, celebrate and appreciate differences, and unite around common goals. To learn more about the Council, visit the USAC website.
Appointed USAC members have voting responsibilities and serve a three-year term, beginning Aug. 1. Monthly Council meetings are approximately two hours, occur during business hours and are considered University business. USAC members also serve on at least one sub-committee within the larger Council to focus on specific goals or tasks. Members can attend meetings remotely or in person to accommodate their individual preferences and geographic location.
Applications are due by April 1. Applicants will be asked to submit a letter of support from a Penn State colleague or supervisor during the submission process, and selected candidates will be invited to interview. The application form can be found online. For questions about the application process or membership, please contact Benjy Romig, membership and elections committee chair, at brr132@psu.edu.
