Penn State University Staff Advisory Council announces 2025 listening sessions

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State University Staff Advisory Council (USAC) will host two virtual listening sessions as part of the organization’s commitment to ensuring all staff voices are heard and valued. These sessions are designed to gather feedback from the community and will provide an opportunity for staff employees to communicate directly with USAC representatives about their experiences working at Penn State.

Staff are invited and encouraged to participate in one of two upcoming listening sessions:

  • Tuesday, March 4 from 2 to 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 5 from 10 to 11 a.m.

Advanced registration is required by 11 a.m. on March 4. The agenda and format for each session will be the same, so staff should register to attend only one of the two sessions. Registrants will receive a Zoom link prior to their scheduled event.

The listening sessions, to be facilitated by USAC members, serve as an essential platform for staff to express their experiences and concerns in a supportive environment. Anonymous feedback will be summarized and presented to University leadership to inform future decision-making. No personally identifiable information will be used in any reports or presentations.

What to expect

During the sessions, USAC leadership will provide updates on current efforts and participants will be asked a series of poll questions where they can express their ideas and experiences. There are two means of sharing thoughts and experiences:

  • Live written feedback: During the session, participants can submit written feedback, visible to all attendees, in the Q&A feature of Zoom. This feedback can be submitted anonymously.

  • Live private feedback: During the session, attendees can choose to submit feedback that is visible only to hosts by using the chat function.

In addition to participating in a listening session, staff members can engage with USAC throughout the year via email at askUSAC@psu.edu and online at hr.psu.edu/usac.
