UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — As part of Penn State’s ongoing efforts to promote mental health among its employees, the University is continuing its program to offer free seminars and access to mental health resources.

The program, offered through Penn State Human Resources and University partner SupportLinc, initially launched last year. Due to its success, the seminars will continue through 2025 and include access to an online mental health “fitness studio” and mental health toolkits. The initiative aims to provide employees with resources and skills aimed at improving and maintaining mental well-being.

“Mental health is vitally important to all of us. We want to provide our valued employees the tools and opportunities for them to maintain and improve their mental health,” said Jill Musser, senior director of benefits.

The seminars will cover a variety of topics throughout 2025, beginning in February. Four midday seminars have been finalized for the spring semester:

In addition to the webinar series, SupportLinc is offering access to a mental health “fitness studio” through Mindstream. The application aims to strengthen your emotional health and help to build life skills, similar to a daily fitness routine for physical health. The platform offers a wide range of sessions to prepare users for challenges life may present.

Mindstream sessions range from three to 20 minutes to fit into your daily life with a focus on mental health, personal development, work-life balance and leadership skills, with new sessions added on a regular basis.

Both Mindstream and new toolkits available through SupportLinc’s mobile app and website provide information and assistance for free to Penn State’s full-time, benefits-eligible employees, post-doctoral appointees, their spouse and dependents, and members of their household. More information is available through SupportLinc’s mobile application or website under the group code “pennstate.”
