UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State College of Engineering (COE) invites alumni and friends to support engineering student success through a GivingTuesday gift on Dec. 3 as Penn State celebrates its tenth GivingTuesday.
The College of Engineering is launching several GivingTuesday campaigns, all of which support engineering students by providing them with the resources they need to excel academically and enhance their overall experience. Last year, the college raised $38,686 from 334 gifts, a 23% increase in the number of donors from the previous year.
This year’s College of Engineering GivingTuesday giving opportunities, described in greater detail on the COE website, are linked below:
“Gifts to the College of Engineering support student educational activities and co-curricular programs such as leadership development, study abroad and engineering summer bridge in addition to funding scholarships and professional development opportunities,” said Tonya L. Peeples, Harold and Inge Marcus Dean of Engineering. “We are thankful for the continued support of those who have impacted the college through our GivingTuesday campaigns.”
Honoring the University’s founding year, Penn State’s celebration is kicking off early on Monday, Dec. 2, at 18:55 on the 24-hour clock (6:55 p.m. EST) and will conclude at midnight on Dec. 3. Those interested in contributing to any of the College of Engineering fundraising initiatives can learn more and give here.
Gifts made on GivingTuesday will advance the University’s historic land-grant mission to serve and lead. Through philanthropy, alumni and friends are helping students to join the Penn State family and prepare for lifelong success; driving research, outreach and economic development that grow our shared strength and readiness for the future; and increasing the University’s impact for families, patients and communities across the commonwealth and around the world.
