UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Residence Life is currently seeking students who are interested in serving as resident assistants.
RAs work in a residence hall or apartment setting under the direct supervision of a professional live-in staff member (coordinator/assistant coordinator). The role of the RA is to work with other residence hall staff to facilitate an environment within the residence hall community that promotes the educational experience of residential living.
Students interested in applying to this process must attend an information session. RA information sessions begin on Wednesday, Sept. 7, and conclude on Wednesday, Sept. 14.
In order to become an RA a student must:
- Have completed 12 Penn State credits (Advanced Placement and transfer credits not included)
- Have at least a 2.4 cumulative Penn State GPA
- Be in good conduct standing with the University.
RA information sessions are open to all students who are interested in finding out more about the RA selection process. While at the sessions, students will find out about the selection process, the RA position, and the required RA three-credit course, HIED 302.

- Sept. 7 at 5 p.m.— 111 Wartik Classroom Building
- Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. — 111 Wartik Classroom Building
- Sept. 9 at 5 p.m. — 111 Wartik Classroom Building
- Sept. 12 at 5 p.m. — 111 Wartik Classroom Building
- Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. — 111 Wartik Classroom Building
- Sept. 14 at 5 p.m. — 111 Wartik Classroom Building
