Penn State’s Sustainability Institute hosts Sustainability Unites on April 15

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Penn State’s Sustainability Institute hosted an event for students involved in sustainable clubs and organizations on campus. The event, titled Sustainability Unites, was held from 4 to 5:30 p.m. April 15 at the Life Sciences Bridge on the University Park campus of Penn State.

The purpose of the event was to celebrate students’ sustainable efforts over the past year, while showing how the Sustainability Institute can be a valuable resource for these groups in the future. Students also had the opportunity to socialize with other students who care about sustainability.

Rob Andrejewski, a program associate in Penn State's Sustainability Institute, said, “We want students to understand that the Sustainability Institute is here for them. This event is going to be a lot of fun, and a great opportunity for us to get some feedback on how we can better serve these groups in the future.”

All students in organizations related to sustainability were invited and encouraged to attend. Students engaged in discussions about different aspects of sustainability and the Sustainability Institute’s resources.

“I was looking forward to this event. Talking to leaders at the Sustainability Institute and leaders of other sustainable student groups will be a great opportunity,” said Darryl Blakey, agricultural advocate at Penn State.
