Participants with PCOS needed for clinical trial

Nazia Raja-Khan is conducting a study on stress reduction for women who have polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

The study will determine what effects stress reduction has on glucose, blood pressure, quality of life, and overall health and well-being in women with PCOS. During the stress reduction program, participants will participate in one or more of the following activities: breathing exercises, meditation, stretching exercises or health education activities. Women age 18 and older who have eight or fewer periods per year and an elevated male hormone level or excessive body hair are eligible to participate in the study.

Participants will be asked to complete 13 visits to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and keep a diary during the 16 weeks of the study. There is no cost for participating, and the stress reduction program and lab tests are covered by the study.
