UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Parents Council is currently seeking applicants to enrich the parent and family experience at University Park. Serving as a resource for parents and families, the Parents Council is comprised of a representative group of University Park parents and family members who make a commitment to volunteer their time and share their knowledge and expertise across a range of initiatives that support the mission of the Penn State Parents Program and the University as a whole.

The council acts as an advisory group working in close collaboration with the Parents Program to help undergraduate parents, families and students foster a positive and lasting connection to Penn State.

“Serving on the Penn State Parents Council has been more rewarding than I imagined," said Mike Bulone, Parents Council chair. "I have met many wonderful families and students that have inspired me.”

Parents Council members are asked to attend two meeting a year at the University Park campus and support the Parents Program by welcoming families to the University, sharing their Penn State experience, and developing ways to connect with families. Council members volunteer for special programs, arrival events, and Parents and Families Weekend. Applications are being accepted through Nov. 30.

Applications for Parent Ambassadors, an additional outreach opportunity, will be available in January. Parent Ambassadors at University Park support the work of the Penn State Parents Council and Parents Program. Parent Ambassadors serve as volunteer representatives for a number of University events and programs for new and continuing students, parents and families.
