UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Lion Surplus will host an e-Cycle event on Wednesday, May 1, during which Penn State students, faculty and staff can donate electronic devices to be properly recycled.

“Managing and disposing of e-waste appropriately can decrease air, water, and land pollution issues,” said Haley Sankey, Auxiliary and Business Services director of sustainability. “The more metals reclaimed through recycling events like these, the less that rare earth metals need to be mined for new products. I’m very pleased that Lion Surplus is hosting this event to help keep electronics out of landfills.”

Items accepted for donation include desktop and laptop computers, computer monitors, TVs, desktop printers and copiers, computer peripherals (keyboards, mice, speakers, cables, wiring), cellphones, iPads and tablets.
