LGBTQA Student Resource Center to celebrate Pride Week from March 20 to 24

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The LGBTQA Student Resource Center, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, will celebrate the diversity within the LGBTQ community during its annual Pride Week from March 20 to 24.

The week will kick off with a HUB Takeover event on Monday, March 20. Throughout the week additional events and educational programming will raise awareness of LGBTQ issues. 

Some of the week’s events include:

  • “Genderf*kation: A Gender Emancipation,” a film about the social, religious and political landscapes of society that struggle to understand or allow for gender variations, will be shown at 11:30 a.m. March 20 in 134 HUB.
  • #BlackTransMagick workshop and performance will be held at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. March 21 in the Paul Robeson Cultural Center. This event is co-sponsored by the Paul Robeson Cultural Center.
  • Angelica Ross, a leading figure of success and strength for transgender and racial equality, will speak at 8 p.m. March 22 in the Freeman Auditorium. This event is co-sponsored by the Center for Women Students.
  • A Pride March will take place on March 24. Meet on the Boucke Building front steps at noon.

In addition to the LGBTQA Student Resource Center, sponsors for Pride Week include the Paul Robeson Cultural Center, Center for Women Students, and University Park Allocation Committee.
