UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Students who plan to live in on-campus residence halls may begin scheduling required move-in dates starting at noon on Tuesday, July 20, via eLiving, once fall room assignments are posted.
At all residential campuses, first-year students will move in first, followed by returning students. Move-in dates for first-year students and returning students will vary from campus to campus. Move-in dates for all campuses, as well as details on the arrival process, what to pack and other key information and resources, are available at https://arrival.psu.edu/.
At the University Park campus, first-year students will move in Aug. 16-20 and returning students will move in Aug. 20-22. To accommodate in-person Extended Orientation, arrival week is extended over several days to offer move-in dates and times throughout the week. This will reduce the daily number of students moving into each area and help alleviate traffic and congestion in parking lots. First-year students will be automatically assigned to extended orientation programming based on their arrival date and will be emailed a detailed schedule of extended orientation programming. More information on University Park Welcome Week activities can be found at https://welcomeweek.psu.edu.
The University’s Food Services will be operating to support the arrival schedule at campuses. Information about University Park campus food service can be found at https://foodservices.psu.edu/. Students at Commonwealth Campuses can go to https://liveon.psu.edu to select their campus and find dining information.
Safety reminders
In alignment with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) latest guidance, individuals who are not fully vaccinated are expected to wear face masks inside University buildings. At this time, fully vaccinated individuals are not required to wear face masks indoors, and physical distancing and outdoor masking requirements have been lifted for all individuals. The University will continue to provide updates as CDC and Pennsylvania Department of Health guidance is updated.
The use of face masks is still required for all individuals while using public transportation, in accordance with CDC guidelines, an in some additional settings such as when visiting on-campus health care facilities.
Penn State continues to strongly encourage students to get vaccinated for COVID-19 as soon as they can do so, and upload their vaccination records through myUHS. Students who share their proof of vaccination will be eligible for a weekly drawing for prizes, including cash payments, gift cards and autographed footballs, through Aug. 23.
When arriving on campus
To help minimize any potential spread of COVID-19, family members are reminded to wash their hands regularly and stay home if they are not feeling well, and roommates should coordinate their arrival times in order to avoid unnecessary contact between family members. Hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout all campus locations.
