UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Following last summer's changes, Penn State again will be offering a discounted Campus Recreation membership program for faculty, staff and retirees during the 2018-19 year.

As of last year, a valid Campus Recreation Membership has been necessary to access all recreational facilities on the University Park campus. Student memberships are included in the Student Initiated Fees each student pays, and all other memberships are determined based on that price. The membership changes were made in order to better align Campus Recreation with national standards as well as the best practices of peer institutions.

During the past year, Campus Recreation introduced additional services, initiatives and a more diverse selection of fitness equipment to enhance the member experience and accommodate a wider variety of patrons.

Faculty, staff and retirees have the choice to purchase three different types of memberships. Annual memberships are rolling for one year from the date of purchase, which is new this year and can be purchased at any time for $230. Semester memberships are available for the fall, spring or summer semesters individually for $95 each semester. Monthly memberships are available year-round and are active for 30 days from the date of purchase for $50.

Memberships also are available for the spouse or partner of all faculty, staff and retirees. The three options for length of membership are identical to the faculty and staff options. These memberships can be purchased in person at the IM Building. Both people must be present at the time of purchase and show proof of the same residency. The sponsoring employee does not need to purchase a membership in order for their spouse or partner to be eligible to purchase one.

A Campus Recreation Membership grants members access to the IM Building, White Building, Natatorium (including the outdoor pool in the summer), and Hepper Fitness Center.
