Applications for Spring 2020 IllumiNATION student ambassadors are now open

Initiative aims to create a community for students to connect via the arts while also promoting sustainability

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — IllumiNATION aims to create a unified Penn State community, full of responsible and inclusive citizens of the world, by encouraging creativity, practicing sustainability, and providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all with illuminated object workshops and a parade.  

For the spring semester, IllumiNATION is recruiting student ambassadors will be responsible for assisting with outreach, facilitating workshops, and parade planning. Students interested in art education, sustainability, and community engagement are encouraged to apply; however, no prior art experience is necessary. Through volunteer opportunities, students will gain planning and leadership experience, and have the opportunity to improve communication skills.

The IllumiNATION initiative is a collaboration between the Center for the Performing Arts and Student Affairs. The goals of this initiative are the to unite Penn State students as a community through the arts; bridge the gap between international and domestic students; and spark conversations about sustainability and shed light on the issues surrounding climate change.
