MEDIA, Pa. — Penn State will celebrate its 10th GivingTuesday on Dec. 3, and Penn State Brandywine invites alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends to participate by showing support for the Brandywine LaunchBox, the Penn State Brandywine Emergency Scholarship Fund and the Student Academic Success Center.
Although GivingTuesday takes place on Dec. 3, Penn State will be kicking off the celebration early on Monday, Dec. 2, at 18:55 — 6:55 p.m. EST — to commemorate the year the University was founded. Brandywine’s campaign is included in this year’s early fundraising window, which runs from Nov. 18 through the official start of the event.
The three funds are a part of a campus-wide network and culture of support for Brandywine students:
- The Brandywine LaunchBox is a community-focused innovation hub, empowering early-stage entrepreneurs, small business owners and creatives to bring their ideas to life.
- The Penn State Brandywine Emergency Scholarship Fund supports Penn State Brandywine undergraduate students who encounter unexpected financial setbacks that threaten their ability to complete their degree.
- The Student Academic Success Center supports Penn State Brandywine students by providing essential resources for academic achievement and successful University transition.
“GivingTuesday is a special day at Penn State Brandywine, where we’re able to come together as a community with a focus on raising funds for the programs our students use so often,” said Regional Chancellor Marilyn J. Wells. “We really care for our students and want to give as much as we can to make sure they reach their highest potential.”
Gifts made on GivingTuesday advance the University’s historic land-grant mission to serve and lead. Through philanthropy, alumni and friends are helping students to join the Penn State family and prepare for lifelong success; driving research, outreach and economic development that grow our shared strength and readiness for the future; and increasing the University’s impact for families, patients and communities across the commonwealth and around the world.
