MEDIA, Pa. — Penn State Brandywine celebrated its annual Homecoming & Family Day on Oct. 26. With more than 500 guests in attendance, and in collaboration with Penn State Day, Homecoming & Family Day was packed with alumni, prospective and current students, families, and friends participating in various activities.
The day started with attendees touring the campus and visiting the campus resource fair. After a fall-themed lunch, the day continued with a women’s soccer game against Lancaster Bible College, various carnival games, caricature artists, a photo booth, an alumni reception and more. Attendees also had the opportunity to donate to Brandywine Benefitting THON through a luxury bag bingo to close out the day.
“Recently, I was informed by one of our inspiring library faculty members about the concept of a third home. Your first home is your family, your second home is your school or work, and your third home is a place outside of those where you feel you belong and you’re able to be yourself,” said Regional Chancellor Marilyn J. Wells during her welcoming remarks.
“Whether Penn State Brandywine is your first, second or third home, welcome home.”
Patton Vo, director of development, discussed how community-centric Homecoming & Family Day was.
“Homecoming & Family Day was the perfect example of community because not only was it an event where Brandywine partners were able to work together, but it also allowed us to welcome over 500 constituents back to campus. The last time we had an event of this capacity was six years ago,” Vo said.
“This event truly showed the power of collaboration, and we’re so grateful for everyone’s efforts.”
