MEDIA, Pa. — The Penn State Brandywine Alumni Society will be a sponsor for “Dining Under the Stars” — a weekly outdoor dining event held Wednesday evenings on State Street in Media — throughout September. As part of the Media community, the Brandywine Alumni Society is an event sponsor for the third year in a row. This year, Epic Foods, a partner of Brandywine, will be collaborating with the Alumni Society to sponsor the event.
“‘Dining Under the Stars’ has been a worthwhile event for the Alumni Society, supporting the strategic initiatives of Penn State Brandywine. The group has excelled in showcasing a Penn State campus that many in the community did not know existed in their county,” said Dana Hallahan, assistant director of alumni relations at Penn State Brandywine.
“Last year, they engaged with 300 individuals and connected with 100 Penn Staters. This event has strengthened connections, significantly enhanced the campus's presence and reputation within the community and has become a cherished tradition for the Society," added Hallahan.
The Brandywine Alumni Society, said Meaghan Daly, immediate past president, is looking forward to getting back on State Street in September, as this is one of Media’s larger events throughout the year.
“This will be the third year in a row that our Alumni Society will be sponsoring Dining Under the Stars, and we couldn’t be more excited,” said Daly.
“This event is very special to us now, especially after receiving this year’s Penn State Alumni Association Volunteer Award for Engagement with Young Alumni," Daly added. "We can’t wait to return to State Street this Fall to promote our campus community with pride!”
Ted Kardon, president of Epic Foods, expressed his excitement to partner with the Brandywine Alumni Society this year for “Dining Under the Stars.”
“We at Epic Foods are delighted to partner with the Penn State Brandywine Alumni Society for 'Dining Under the Stars.' This sponsorship is a perfect fit for our mission of bringing communities together through great food and shared experiences. It's a wonderful opportunity to give back to a community that has been instrumental in our growth,” he said.
“We at Epic are getting ready to launch a new product line focused on healthier snack options for college students," said Kardon, "and thanks to their support, we're eager to showcase what can come out of Media to the entire Penn State network.”
The Brandywine Alumni Society and Epic Foods table at “Dining Under the Stars” will be stationed near 24-26 W. State Street throughout September and will feature Brandywine campus units each week.
Brandywine Athletics will be represented on Sept. 4; the Brandywine LaunchBox will be represented on Sept. 11; Brandywine Academic Affairs will be showcasing faculty and student research on Sept. 18; and Brandywine Admissions will be represented on Sept. 25.
