WYOMISSING, Pa. — Networking is a crucial skill for young professionals in terms of career advancement, gaining access to opportunities, and building relationships, ultimately boosting both personal and professional growth. To that end, the Penn State Berks Advisory Board will sponsor an event titled “Elevate Your Path – Empowering Today’s Young Professionals” from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, in the Penn State Berks Perkins Student Center, Multipurpose Room. The event is free and open to the public, but attendees must register in advance. Light refreshments will be served.
This networking event will feature a dynamic discussion moderated by Radha Pyati, chancellor of Penn State Berks, with insights from Cory Varona, co-founder of OCOA Beauty and Penn State Berks alumna; Rachael Romig, director of development at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts; and Adam Krick, vice president and director of enterprise risk management at Tompkins Financial Corp.
“The Community Engagement Committee of the Penn State Berks Advisory Board works to bring community members on campus and also seeks to build and demonstrate a strong level of support to communities throughout Berks County,” said Eileen Dautrich, advisory board member.
“We are excited about the opportunity to engage young professionals from the surrounding communities and counties through this Penn State Berks event that will assist them in their professional development and career growth. In addition, this event provides a multifaceted opportunity for Penn State Berks students preparing to graduate who will not only have the opportunity to learn from this panel of professionals but will also to network with area young professionals who they can speak with about their career paths.”
The event is made possible by 1963 alumnus Greg Flemming, a member of the Penn State Berks Advisory Board, and RKL LLP.
