WYOMISSING, Pa. — Berks Benefitting THON, a Penn State Berks student organization, will host a benefit dinner and a night of fun — all for a good cause. The fifth annual "Inspire the Night" benefit dinner will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Reading. This event is open to students, faculty, staff and community members. Customers Bank is the title partner for this year’s event.
Tickets can be purchased directly through the Berks Benefitting THON website. Individual tickets cost $65 and student tickets cost $50.
The IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, commonly known as THON, is the largest student-run philanthropic event in the world. THON is committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. THON's mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and ensure funding for critical research — all in pursuit of a cure.
The event will immerse guests in the experience of THON with an evening full of fun, inspiration and games, including giant Jenga, Plinko, raffles, live auctions and much more. Attendees will hear from families who have been impacted by pediatric cancer and benefited from the funds raised by THON. In addition, a significant benefactor to the organization will be recognized and there will be a display of artwork created by third and fourth graders who participated in THON’s sixth annual art contest.
Last year’s event raised nearly $12,300 to help families affected by pediatric cancer. This year, Berks Benefitting THON hopes to increase that total.
