UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Five entries produced by Penn State students earned first-place finishes in the 2024 Mid-Atlantic College Production Awards, a competition coordinated by the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Penn State’s contingent of College Emmy winners included:
- Newscast, “Centre County Report” (Oct. 27, 2023) — Sophia Montanye, producer; Oliva Dunne, anchor; Cameraon Lobley, anchor; Destiny Sanchez, sports anchor; and Scott Stranix, director.
- News Report, “Estonia’s Past Influences Current Military Stance” — Carlos Garcia, reporter.
- Arts and Entertainment/Cultural Affairs, “Tartu: 2024 European Capital of Culture” —Mackenzie Daly, reporter.
- Sports Story or Segment, “More Than A Medal At State” — Joe Callahan, reporter.
- Multimedia Journalist — Anjelica Rubin.
The awards were presented Saturday night in Pittsburgh.
