UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Two social media efforts created by CommAgency for clients at Penn State were recognized with Education Digital Marketing Awards.
The award-winning efforts, both in the same category, were created on behalf of the Penn State All-Sports Museum and the Matson Museum of Anthropology.
A single Instagram post for the All-Sports Museum earned a Gold Award for Social Media Content. Students Mark Edgar and Isabella Granada, who graduated in May, created that content.
A single Instagram post for the Maston Museum earned a Bronze Award for Social Media Content. Students Charani Gauravaram, a senior advertising/public relations major, and Jadyn Stuart, who graduated in May, created that content.
“In the recent year our students worked hard making short-form videos for clients — and embracing lots of trial and error,” said faculty supervisor Bill Zimmerman, assistant teaching professor in Ad/PR. “It’s great to see their creativity recognized.”
CommAgency, housed in the Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications, is a student-run creative agency that creates high-quality, low-cost media for Penn State clients, local nonprofits and startups.
An annual competition, the Education Digital Marketing Awards recognize the best educational websites, digital content, electronic communications, mobile media and social media. This year, there were more than 1,000 entries from institutions across the country.
