UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — An audio feature earned first-place honors and four television shows were recognized for their excellence as submissions from Penn State students performed well in the annual Broadcast Education Association Festival of Media Arts.
Winners in the collegiate division of the nationwide competition were recently announced. Top finishers in the 23rd annual competition will be honored April 7 at BEA’s annual convention in Las Vegas.
The 2025 competition attracted 2,285 entries, representing over 300 colleges and universities in the eight different competitions.
Penn State’s winners were:
Non-Narrative Audio, First Place

- “How is Istanbul Tracking Historically Tough Road Congestion?” (Cameron Lobely)
Television Long Feature, Award of Excellence
- “Trout and Tradition: The Legacy of Joe Humphreys” (Haley Jacobs)
Television Weathercaster, Second Place (tie)
