The Penn State Behrend men’s water polo team won four matches at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational. Leo Nikolic, a freshman from Bethesda, Maryland, scored four goals against the host team, including the game-winner in overtime.
Behrend’s soccer, volleyball and golf teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:
Men’s soccer
- Cortland 4, Penn State Behrend 0
- Kings 3, Penn State Behrend 1
Johnathan Swann, a senior from Allison Park, scored in the 65th minute against Kings. Goalkeeper Anthony Scalise, a freshman from North Huntingdon, made six saves against Cortland, which was ranked No. 13 in the nation.
Women’s soccer
- Penn State Behrend 2, Rutgers-Newark 0
Marlene Andrade, a sophomore from Walnut Creek, California, recorded a goal and an assist against Rutgers-Newark. Trinity Prestash, a senior from Philipsburg, also scored.
Women’s volleyball
- Kenyon 3, Penn State Behrend 2
- Alfred 3, Penn State Behrend 1
- Penn State Behrend 3, Geneva 2
- Penn State Behrend 3, Houghton 1
Cadence Jones, a freshman from North East, had 21 kills, 14 digs, three blocks and six service aces against Geneva. Setter Brynne Smith, a freshman from Butler, had 32 assists and 10 digs.

Jack Holl, a senior from Greenwich, Connecticut, scored six goals against the Penn State club team. Nick Thompson, a freshman from Hudsonville, Michigan, scored four against the Pitt club team.
Men’s golf
- Sixteenth (of 20 teams) at the Mountain View Collegiate Classic
Owen Blum, a sophomore from Warren, and Daniel McMaster, a senior from Murrysville, tied for 56th in a field of 110 golfers. Both carded a 163 over the two-day tournament.
