ERIE, Pa. — The Penn State Behrend swimming and diving teams defeated Wells in a dual meet at the Junker Center on Feb. 4. The men’s team won 14 of the 16 events. The women’s team finished first, second and third in five of the 15 events.
Behrend’s basketball, track and field, volleyball, bowling and wrestling teams also were in action last week. Here are the scores and highlights:
Men’s basketball
La Roche 72, Penn State Behrend 65
Hilbert 86, Penn State Behrend 84 (OT)
Tommy DiRienzo, a junior from Pittsburgh, scored a career-high 32 points against Hilbert. Mason Blankenberg, a freshman from Ontario, New York, scored 19 against La Roche.
Women’s basketball

Madilyn Boyer, a freshman from Saxonburg, scored 20 points against La Roche. Morgan Altavilla, a freshman from Pittsburgh, added 19 points.
Men’s track and field
Samuel Hetrick, a junior from New Bethlehem, tied for third in the high jump at the Jud Logan “Light Giver” Open in Ashland, Ohio. He cleared a height of 2.0 meters.
Women’s track and field
Savanna Carr, a senior from Franklin, set a school record in the mile run, finishing in 5:11.73 at the Jud Logan “Light Giver” Open in Ashland, Ohio. She placed 11th.

Owen Wienczkowski, a junior from Waterford, had 16 kills against Wilkes. Alex Jackson, a junior from Cochranton, added 43 assists and 12 digs.
Men’s swimming and diving

Jacob Earley, a freshman from Erie, won the 1-meter (207.05 points) and 3-meter (204.45 points) diving events against Wells.
Women’s swimming and diving

Bella Nadzam, a sophomore from Erie, won the 50 free (27.40) and the 50 backstroke (32.48). Aliya Webster, a junior from Bradford, won the 1000 free (11:48.49) and the 100 breaststroke (1:20.60).

Zach Dellinger, a freshman from Williamsville, New York, won by decision, 5-3, in the 125-pound bout.
