The poet Nancy Krygowski will read from her work when the Smith Creative Writers Reading Series returns to Penn State Behrend on Thursday, March 30. Her reading, which begins at 6 p.m. in the Metzgar Center, is free and open to the public.

Krygowski is the author of “The Woman in the Corner,” which Library Journal named one of the top 100 books of poetry in 2020. Her first book, “Velocity,” won the Agnes Lynch Starrett Prize.

Krygowski is a recipient of a Pennsylvania Council on the Arts Individual Artist Fellowship; a Pittsburgh Foundation grant; and residencies at Jentel, Ragdale, the Kimmel Harding Nelson Foundation and the Virginia Center of Creative Arts. She is an instructor at Carlow University and co-editor of the Pitt Poetry Series.

The Smith Creative Writers Reading Series is produced by Penn State Behrend’s creative writing program, which leads to a bachelor of fine arts degree. The program is the only one of its kind at Penn State.
