March 3: Creative Writers Reading Series at Penn State Behrend

11:00 PM / March 03, 2022

Author Michael Wang will read from his story collection, “Further News of Defeat,” which won the 2021 Robert W. Bingham Prize, when the Smith Creative Writers Reading Series continues at Penn State Behrend on March 3.

Wang’s reading will begin at 6 p.m. on Zoom. For a link, visit behrend.psu.edu/readings.

Born in Fenyang, a coal-mining city in China’s Shanxi Province, Wang immigrated to the United States at age 6. He holds a doctorate in literature from Florida State University and a master of fine arts in fiction from Purdue University. His debut novel, “Lost in the Long March,” will be published this summer.

The Smith Creative Writers Reading Series is produced by Behrend’s Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) program in creative writing — the only program of its kind at Penn State — with support from the Clarence A. and Eugenie Baumann Smith Fund.
