Students offered NIT semifinal package for only $20

University Park, Pa. -- Penn State basketball student season ticket-holders will have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the Nittany Lions' Tuesday night, prime-time NIT semifinal game in New York City's Madison Square Garden beginning at 10 a.m. Friday. Tickets for students who were not season ticket-holders will be made available at noon. Intercollegiate Athletics will offer all students a $20 ticket and travel package for the NIT that includes a $10 semifinal ticket and same-day, round-trip bus transportation for $10.

The sale will take place exclusively at the Bryce Jordan Center Ticket Office and students will need to present a valid student ID to purchase a ticket. A limit of one game ticket and one transportation voucher per student will be in place. Students not in need of transportation will have the option of purchasing a $10 game ticket only. Because all NIT seating is reserved, students who wish to sit together at the game will need to purchase their tickets at the same time. Only one ID can be presented by each student, and all sales must be done via cash or credit card.

The student sale will conclude at 4 p.m. on Friday and resume again from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, or until student tickets have sold out. A total of 1,200 tickets will be made available to Penn State students.

Buses will depart from the front of the Bryce Jordan Center (along Curtin Road) at noon on Tuesday and will begin a return trip to the Jordan Center from New York 30 minutes after the conclusion of Penn State's 9 p.m. game. All students will need to have their transportation voucher to board the bus on Tuesday.

Should Penn State win on Tuesday night, tickets for Thursday's NIT Championship game will go on sale via the same procedure at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 1. The same $20 ticket and travel package would be made available for students at that time. Details regarding departure time would be distributed on Wednesday.

For additional information, students can log onto http://www.gopsusports.com/tickets/ or call (800) NITTANY (648-8269).

The sale of NIT semifinal tickets through Athletic Ticketing Services for Nittany Lion Club members and the general public begins at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 26. Tickets are available by calling (814) 865-5555. Tickets will be allocated on a priority basis according to Nittany Lion Club point totals and no transportation arrangements are offered as part of this sale. Cost per ticket is $30. Tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster.com.
