Editor's note: The ticket request form is now closed, as the allotment of complimentary tickets offered through the Seats for Servicemembers program has been reached. In addition, supporters can still purchase Seats for Servicemembers tickets that will be donated to military members online or by calling 1-800-NITTANY.
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — On July 30, veterans, service members and military family members can apply online for complimentary tickets to the Penn State-Kent State football game on Saturday, Sept. 21, in recognition of Penn State’s Military Appreciation activities/festivities.
The annual Seats for Servicemembers program honors the dedication and sacrifices of those who have served and are currently serving in the U.S. armed forces by providing football tickets at no cost. Complimentary tickets to a pregame tailgate at the Bryce Jordan Center will also be provided.
Penn State supporters, alumni, volunteers and businesses have made this longstanding tradition possible since 2011. In 2023, Penn State made more than 7,500 tickets available to military members for the game against Indiana.
Request football tickets
Beginning at noon (Eastern Standard Time) on July 30, military members, veterans and their families can visit the ticket application request website to request tickets on a first-come, first-served basis to the Sept. 21 game and tailgate.
To allow as many families as possible to attend the football game, two complementary tickets will be provided to those who have served or are currently serving in the military. Service members and veterans can purchase up to two additional tickets at the discounted price of $35 per ticket.
Please keep in mind that ticket requests will fill up quickly. All sign-ups are simply requests until confirmed via email by Penn State Athletics. No later than Aug. 6, an email will go out to everyone who submitted a ticket request notifying applicants whether they were selected to receive tickets. Tailgate tickets and parking passes will be mailed out starting the week of Sept. 2. Attendees can pick up their game tickets on gameday at the tailgate inside the Bryce Jordan Center.
Those who receive football tickets for this year’s Military Appreciation game and do not attend the game will not be eligible for complimentary tickets to future Penn State Military Appreciation sporting events.
Service members and veterans must show proof of service to receive tickets.
Donate football tickets
Tickets will be available to be donated through the Seats for Servicemembers program for service members and veterans. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online or by calling 1-800-NITTANY (Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
