NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — For the third time this season, Penn State Altoona freshman Grace Dangelo (State College, Pennsylvania/State College) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s (AMCC) Women’s Swimmer of the Week.
On Monday, Nov. 11, the AMCC recognized Dangelo as its top women’s swimmer of the week after another strong performance by the freshman this past Saturday, when she totaled two first place finishes in a tri-meet with nonconference opponent Juniata College and Division II foe California University of Pennsylvania.
Dangelo won the 200 SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 2:15.93. She also prevailed in the 100 SC Meter Backstroke, clocking in at 1:10.32.
This is Dangelo’s AMCC-leading third Women’s Swimmer of the Week award this season. It also marks the fourth time overall that a Penn State Altoona women’s swimmer has won the award this year.
Penn State Altoona women’s swimming hosts its home opener this Saturday, Nov. 16, welcoming AMCC opponent Alfred State College to the Adler Natatorium for a 1 p.m. dual meet.
