UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa – A proposed upgrade to the Nittany Lion Outdoor Track was presented today (May 5) to the Penn State Board of Trustees Committee on Finance, Business and Capital Planning.
The existing track surface at the Nittany Lion Outdoor Track is worn and nearing the end of its useful life, having last been replaced in the mid-1990s. Penn State is scheduled to host the Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships in May 2017.
The project scope also includes replacement of the perimeter channel drain. The cost estimate for this project is $1.45 million.
