NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — Penn State Altoona student-athletes earned seven spots on the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Winter and Spring All-Sportsmanship teams.
All teams that compete for an AMCC championship select one member from each of their rosters who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be included on the all-sportsmanship team. These individuals are selected by a vote of their teammates.
The student-athlete selected for each team must consistently demonstrate a high level of ethical conduct, respect and fair play in both practice and competition, whether on the sidelines or as an active competitor. Such sportsmanship shall be evident toward teammates, coaches, opponents, officials and fans. The player also must serve as a positive representative of school spirit when a spectator at other teams' sporting events.
The Penn State Altoona student-athletes selected to AMCC All-Sportsmanship teams by their teammates are:
Winter sports
- Women’s bowling: sophomore Kaitlyn Estright (Norristown, Pennsylvania/Archbishop Carroll)
- Men’s volleyball: junior Micah Brinker (Lock Haven, Pennsylvania/PA Cyber)
Spring sports
- Men’s tennis: junior Micah Brinker (Lock Haven, Pennsylvania/PA Cyber)
- Women’s tennis: sophomore Elani Etter (Franklin, Tennessee)
- Men’s golf: freshman Gaige Orndoff (Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania/Hollidaysburg)
- Softball: sophomore Katie College (Davidsville, Pennsylvania/Conemaugh Township)
- Baseball: junior Richard Carey (Milton, Delaware/Cape Henlopen)
