UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Join the Pennsylvania Chamber Orchestra and Maestro Gerardo Edelstein for the opening concert of the 2024-25 season, to be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, in the Penn State Recital Hall, Music Building 1, on the University Park campus.
Be inspired to get up and dance as you are transported to Spain, Romania, and beyond.
The concert opens in Spain with Manuel de Falla’s comedic "Three Cornered Hat Suite," followed by American composer Aaron Copland’s "Old American Folk Songs," featuring baritone soloist Michael Hanley. Hungarian composer Béla Bartók’s "Romanian Folk Dances" will immerse listeners in the folk music of Transylvania, and this concert ends with Schubert’s energizing "Symphony No. 3."
