ERIE, Pa. — For college students, there’s nothing like the excitement that comes with spring break. On Tuesday, Feb. 27, the Concert Band at Penn State Erie, The Behrend College, will further drum up that excitement with a special performance.
“A Musical Travelogue,” will be held at 8:30 p.m. in the McGarvey Commons of the college’s Reed Union Building. The concert will feature several selections related to spring break and vacation.
The highlight of the program will be “Presque Isle,” a piece that is based on Erie’s picturesque peninsula, written for the Concert Band by composer and pianist Beata Moon.
The Behrend Concert Band is conducted by Gary Viebranz, associate teaching professor of music and director of instrumental ensembles. Enrollment in the band is open to all Behrend students with previous instrumental experience.
Admission to “A Musical Travelogue” is free and open to the public. For additional information, contact Viebranz at 814-898-6289 or email gav3@psu.edu.
