‘Conversations from Penn State’ season wraps with Beverly McIver

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Celebrated painter Beverly McIver will join veteran interviewer Patty Satalia on the season finale of WPSU-TV’s "Conversations from Penn State." McIver will discuss growing up in the segregated South, serving as caregiver to her developmentally disabled sister and painting her way through it all.

"Conversations from Penn State: Worthy of Winning" will air at 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, on WPSU-TV. The show can also be viewed at http://conversations.psu.edu.

"Conversations from Penn State," with Satalia at the helm, offers thoughtful, in-depth exchanges with a broad range of remarkable people. In many cases, their trailblazing work has advanced their field, drawing national and worldwide attention.

According to her website, McIver’s paintings have charted new ground for African-American female artists and can be found in the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Weatherspoon Art Museum in Greensboro, N.C., the Baltimore Museum of Art, the North Carolina Central University Museum of Art, the Asheville Museum of Art, the Crocker Art Museum and the Nelson Fine Arts Museum on the campus of Arizona State University.
