UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Join the Symphonic Band and Symphonic Wind Ensemble for their semester closer, titled "RENEWED," at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at Eisenhower Auditorium. Both ensembles will feature works by Revelli award-winning composer, Viet Cuong, to conclude his residency at Penn State.
The combined ensembles will feature works by Jodie Blackshaw, Ronald Lo Presti, Steven Bryant, John Mackey and Hilary Purrington, and conclude with Cuong's percussion quartet concerto "Re(new)al." "Re(new)al," featuring three continuous movements, is inspired by the transcendent power of hydro, wind and solar energy. Each movement harnesses a different energy source in its exploration of sound creating a unique, highly visual and sonorous experience for the listener.
Tickets are available for purchase at the Arts Ticket Center. Admission is $12.50 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets will also be available at the box office, which opens one hour before the performance.
For those unable to attend in person, the concert will be available to stream live.
