UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State School of Music will host Patrick Williams, principal flutist of the Philadelphia Orchestra, for a special masterclass and solo recital on Feb. 17. Accompanied by renowned pianist Hugh Sung, Williams will showcase his artistry in an evening performance following an afternoon educational session.

Williams, known for his captivating orchestral performances, is equally passionate about concerto, chamber music and recital engagements. Beyond his role in Philadelphia, he frequently appears as a guest artist, sharing his expertise with audiences and aspiring musicians alike. His visit to Penn State provides a unique opportunity for students and the community to experience his exceptional musicianship and insight.

Sponsored by the Penn State School of Music Flute Studio, UPAC, Powell Flutes, Windworks Studio and the RoseMary Duncan Fund, both events are free and open to the public. The flute masterclass will take place at 4 p.m., followed by the recital at 7:30 p.m., both in the School of Music Recital Hall.
