UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State School of Music will host a Kickoff Concert on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall. This free event is open to the public and promises an evening filled with outstanding student and faculty performances, and exciting previews of the upcoming season.
In addition to student and faculty performances, the Kickoff Concert will also feature a preview of the school's new Recital Series, “American Mavericks, Malcontents, and Mischief-Makers.” This new three-concert recital series will celebrate the bold and rebellious spirit of music by showcasing the exceptional talent of the School of Music faculty and students through a diverse array of innovative and provocative works, accompanied by curated remarks from the musicology and theory faculty.
After the Kickoff Concert, concert-goers will have the opportunity to enjoy cookies and beverages as they mingle with students, faculty and community members.
The Penn State School of Music Kickoff Concert is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall. For more information, visit music.psu.edu.
