Penn State Rock Ensemble makes its debut performance on April 29

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State School of Music will present the debut performance of the Penn State Rock Ensemble on Monday, April 29, at 7:30 p.m. in the School of Music Recital Hall. This exciting new ensemble, directed by Jesse Moore, brings together a dynamic mix of music majors and students from across the University to perform an electrifying set list spanning the best of 20th- and 21st-century rock and metal.

Throughout the semester, students have honed their skills on guitar, bass, drumset, keyboard and vocals, collaborating in weekly rehearsals to refine their sound. The concert will showcase a rotating lineup of musicians, delivering high-energy performances of iconic songs by legendary artists such as Iron Maiden, The Strokes, Linkin Park, Paramore, Eagles, Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana, System of a Down, and more.

The Penn State Rock Ensemble is an innovative addition to the School of Music’s performance offerings, highlighting the depth and diversity of contemporary music education at Penn State. 

This performance is free and open to the public.
