UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Ryan Russell, associate professor of graphic design in the Penn State College of Arts and Architecture’s Stuckeman School, was awarded the grand prize in the Experimental posters category of the United Designs Alliance (UDA) Annual International Design Competition 2022.
The UDA competition recognizes the best of posters in the categories of Commercial, Experimental and Environmental Awareness. One grand prize is awarded in each category with Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards also issued.
Russell’s “No War” campaign earned the UDA's highest honors and conveys a striking message about Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.
“I am proud to produce work that disseminates a powerful and necessary message regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine,” said Russell. “It is my hope that this selection of imagery continues to find new opportunities for dissemination through exhibition to continue spreading this important message.”
A full catalog of this year’s award-winning designs can be viewed on the UDA website.
Established in 2014, the UDA is a global design and educational network of students, practitioners and educators that works to exchange ideas on communication design practice, education and culture.
