UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Alumni Association is a proud sponsor of this year’s Black History Month programming on WPSU, a PBS and NPR member station licensed to the Penn State Board of Trustees.
The support is an expression of the Penn State Alumni Association’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive membership, one where all identities, experiences and backgrounds come together to create a strong and welcoming alumni community representative of the Penn Staters it proudly serves.
“We are proud to recognize, support and celebrate the experiences, perspectives and achievements of people of color through this partnership with WPSU,” said Paul Clifford, chief executive officer of the Penn State Alumni Association.
WPSU serves one of PBS’s largest rural coverage areas in the nation. WPSU-TV reaches 1.3 million people across 24 counties of central Pennsylvania through four channels: WPSU, WPSU World, WPSU Create and WPSU KIDS. WPSU-FM reaches 13 counties through broadcasting and two online streams: WPSU-Classical and WPSU Jazz. Those within WPSU’s broadcast coverage area can watch or listen on WPSU’s livestream for television and for radio.
“Supporting WPSU’s Black History Month programming helps these important stories reach as many people as possible,” Clifford said. “It also shows the Alumni Association’s commitment to promoting diversity and showing the world what ‘We Are’ means.”
