Penn State Alumni Achievement Award Ceremony slated for March 17

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Alumni Association will honor seven prominent young alumni at the Alumni Achievement Awards Ceremony on Friday, March 17, at 6 p.m.

The ceremony will be held at the State Theatre in downtown State College and can be viewed everywhere by livestream

The Alumni Achievement Award recognizes alumni 35 years of age and younger for their extraordinary professional accomplishments, demonstrating to students that Penn State alumni succeed in exceptional fashion at an early age. Recipients are nominated by an academic college or campus and invited to return to Penn State to share their expertise with students and the University community.  

Following are the names, graduation year(s), and academic colleges of this year’s honorees:   

  • Nicole Gailey ‘10 Behrend — director, Research & Development and Innovation PMO Americas, Trivium Packaging 

  • Geoffrey Halberstadt ‘11 Lib, ‘17g Edu — senior director, Development and Alumni Relations, College of the Liberal Arts, Penn State 

  • Leah Liu ‘09 Sci — associate director of target biology, Korro Bio Inc.  

  • Meredith Monroe ‘10, ‘16g Bus — senior manager, People Advisory Services, Ernst & Young LLP 

  • Stephanie Shirley ‘09 Com — founder and owner, Bennis Public Relations Inc.  

  • Timothy Truong ‘19g SIA — operations officer, Defense Logistics Agency, Americas East  

  • Rachel Wiley ‘11 Edu — founder and owner, Day By Day Home Therapy and Dementia Consulting
