UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Alumni and fans traveling to cheer on Penn State football in October can unite with fellow Penn Staters at Penn State Alumni Association-hosted events.
The day of each game, the Alumni Association will host Roar Tour stops at USC (Oct. 12) and Wisconsin (Oct. 26). The Roar Tour is the premier pregame event at away football games, featuring the Penn State cheerleaders, the Nittany Lion and special guests, along with enhanced family-friendly games, Penn State Bakery cookies and more. Alumni Association members who attend the Roar Tour will receive a commemorative lanyard with this year’s football roster.
The night before away games, the Alumni Association partners with a local alumni chapter to welcome Penn Staters for an evening of camaraderie. Often, the night features performances from the Penn State cheerleaders, Nittany Lion and Pep Band — comprised of members of the Blue Band. Sign-ups for the Friday night mixer at USC are part of the Roar Tour. The event is set for 7-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at Tom's Watch Bar, located in LA Live.
Along with Sports and Entertainment Travel, the Alumni Association has organized a fan tour for the game at USC (Oct. 11-13). Letterman Adam Taliaferro will host the tour. More information is available on the tour site, and you can see a video of Taliaferro welcoming Penn Staters to the tour on the Alumni Association's YouTube channel. Penn Staters not traveling on the organized USC fan trip also are invited to attend the pep rally there.
Registration for the Friday night mixer at Wisconsin is open. Co-hosted with the Alumni Association's Madison Chapter, the event will be held at the Fluno Center in downtown Madison. Advance registration and payment is recommended to ensure your spot. There may be capacity limitations and day-of, walk-in registration, may not be available. Please register by Oct. 15.
