NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — Penn State Altoona forward Dwayne Jones, of Philadelphia, was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week in men’s basketball on Nov. 18.

Jones posted a pair of double-doubles to help the Lions to home wins last week over regional Division III opponent Juniata College and NCCAA foe Regent University.

In last Tuesday night’s 78-64 victory over Juniata, Jones posted game-highs in five different statistical categories, finishing with 17 points, 14 rebounds, eight blocks, seven assists, and four steals. His total of eight blocks tied the Penn State Altoona men’s basketball program’s single-game record.

Jones followed that up with another big performance in Friday evening’s 73-62 win against Regent, having a team-high 18 points and game-high 10 rebounds to go along with three assists, two blocks, and one steal.

On the week, Jones averaged 17.5 points per game, 12.0 rebounds per game, 5.0 blocks per game, 5.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game. In four games this season, he leads the AMCC in defensive rebounds (35), steals (18), and blocks (12) while being second in rebounds per game (10.3) and eighth in points per game (17.3).

Penn State Altoona men’s basketball is 3-1 overall this season. The Lions will compete in Western New England University’s Holiday Classic on Nov. 22 and 23.
