Grace Dangelo selected AMCC Women’s Swimmer of the Week

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — Penn State Altoona student-athlete Grace Dangelo of State College was announced as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s (AMCC) Women’s Swimmer of the Week on Monday, Dec. 5.

Dangelo helped power the Penn State Altoona women’s swimming team to a 112-102 victory over AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend on the road Saturday when she recorded a team-high three first-place finishes.

Dangelo’s first win of Saturday’s meet came in the 200 Yard IM, during which she clocked in at 2:21.24 to finish atop the standings. Next, she won the 100 Yard Butterfly by compiling a time of 1:02.72. Dangelo’s third win came in the 100 Yard Breaststroke when she took first place with a time of 1:14.99.

This is Dangelo’s first AMCC swimmer of the week award this season, as well as the tenth of her collegiate career with the Lions.

The Penn State Altoona women’s swimming team holds a 3-2 record in dual meets this season. The Lions are back in action on Friday, Dec. 9, when the team will host non-conference opponent Lycoming College for a meet starting at 6 p.m.
